May 5-7: UNECE CLRTAP Task Force on Measurements and Modelling

We are pleased to announce the opening of registration for the 26th TFMM hybrid meeting, scheduled for May 5–7, 2024, in Potsdam, Germany. 

The meeting will be hosted by the Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS), back-to-back with the TF HTAP meeting.

On May 5 and 6, we aim to provide a comprehensive overview of ongoing and planned TFMM activities, with a focus on the next workplan (2026–2027). 
In the morning of May 7, there will be a joint session with TF HTAP on the planned global-regional exercises related to ozone.

Apart from the update on the Convention and the discussion on synergies between the TFMM work plan  and new challenges related to the 2024/2881 directive, we are particularly interested in contributions on the following topics:

• O3/VOC with a focus on the July 2022 Modelling Exercise
• VOC observed and modelled variability + IMP 2024 VOC campaign overview
• PMs chemical composition, including CEC (measurements and modelling)
• Short- and long-term transboundary contributions
• General country update

May 7-9: UNECE CLRTAP Task Force on Hemispheric Transport of Air Pollution

We are pleased to announce that our annual Spring meeting will be held from May 7 to May 9. For the first time since 2019 this meeting will be a hybrid event, with the in-person component in Potsdam, Germany, and online participation possible via zoom.

In this meeting we will discuss progress in the current HTAP work plan, as well as collect ideas for the future work of the task force. Topics to be covered include:

• OPNS: Simulations of ozone, particles, and the deposition of nitrogen and sulphur in support of the revision of the CLRTAP Gothenburg Protocol.
• Fires: multi-pollutant simulations of wildfire impacts on air quality
• MCHgMAP: Simulations of Mercury trends and source attribution
• Scoping discussions for a new activity on modelling of PFAS

This meeting will be immediately preceded by a meeting of the CLRTAP Task Force on Measurements and Modelling (https://emep-ccc.nilu.no/tfmm) and will include a joint session on Wednesday May 7 for discussion of global-to-regional coupling of model simulations in the OPNS exercise.
